More Football Festivities!

The Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement activities continue. If you have missed out so far, it is not too late to join in!

As the big event draws closer, the celebration continues. On Aug. 1, 2 and 3 at the Stark County Fairgrounds the sweet smells will draw you in! The three day Rib Burn off will offer something for everyone. Eleven rib masters will be cooking up BBQ for you. The times are 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. If ribs are not you thing, don't worry, be happy...there are plenty of food options. Music is on the agenda and plenty of things for the kids to do. You will also be able to watch the float builders add the finishing touches to their floats for the Aug. 4 parade. Ticket sales for the concerts range from free standing space to $9.

August 2 at 10 a.m. the First Play 2012 event features a 3 mile chain of area kids. It begins downtown and will stretch from 201 2nd St. S.W. where the NFL was founded in 1920 all the way to the Hall of Fame. It will take more than 1500 kids to stretch out the chain. They will be tossing an official NFL football from hands to hands along the way until it reaches the HOF. Participants will receive a voucher to the Hall of Fame. August 3 is the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Fashion Show Luncheon held at 11:30 a.m. in the Memorial Civic Center and Cultural Center. Matt Fox from HGTV's Room by Room and the current host of Cook and Fox Morning Show will emcee the event. Tickets are available.

August 3 is the Enshrinees Gold Jacket Dinner. The event takes place at 5:15 p.m. in the Memorial Civic and Cultural Center. The six inductees will receive their gold jackets at this event. Tickets available for this event. Click for ticket info.

August 3 the Friday Night Reception is held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame at 6 p.m. It includes dinner stations along with beer and wine bar on the HOF grounds. You can get a peak at the newly renovated Hall of Fame and watch a live broadcast of the honorees receiving thier gold jackets. Click on on tickets for more info. TICKETS

August 4 at 12 p.m. is the Mounted Memories Autograph Sessions. Fans can obtain autographs from returning Pro Hall of Famers. They event is held on the grounds of the HOF. Ticket Prices.

The Fan Party is at 4 p.m. on August 4 before the main event at the Hall of Fame. There will be barbeque and music. Returning Hall of Famers will be around for autographs and everyone recives a Class of 2011 rally towel.  Before the marquee event, thousands of football enthusiasts celebrated at the Pro Football Hall of Fame where they enjoyed lip-smacking barbecue and thirst-quenching beverages as a deejay played party music. Returning Pro Football Hall of Famers were on-hand for autographs and meet and greet opportunities, and attendees received a Class of 2011 rally towel as a souvenir memento.

August 4 at 7 p.m. fans will fill Fawcett Stadium for the introduction of the six inductees and enshrinement.
August 5 at 12:30 p.m. will be the lunch followed by a roundtable presentation that features the 2012 class of enshinees. Held at the Civic Center and Cultural Center.

August 5 The Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints will play the first preseason game in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game at Fawcett Stadium. The tailgate party begins at 5:00 p.m. and the game at 8 p.m.

As if that is not enough excitement finishing up the festivities at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium on August 6 will be the 2012 Drum Corps International Competition. The high stepping shows offer many fans a great show. It begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Hall of Fame, established in 1963 and 267 players or coaches have been inducted. About 21,000 men have played professional football since 1963. Enjoy the events!
